Abstrakt

Celem artykułu jest ukazanie specyfiki działań przeciwpowstańczych prowadzonych przez specjalistyczne jednostki Armii Brytyjskiej w Irlandii Północnej. W opracowaniu opisane zostały zasady działania pierwszej, wyspecjalizowanej jednostki prowadzącej operacje tego typu na terenie Belfastu i Londonderry. Artykuł ukazuje również niepowodzenia działań MRF, które przyczyniły się do rozwiązania jednostki. Opracowanie odpowiada dodatkowo na pytania – czy strategia działań przewciwpartyzanckich brygadiera F. Kitsona, opracowana podczas działań w Kenii, sprawdziła się w Irlandii Północnej? Oraz jakie elementy miały wpływ na  niepowodzenia działań COIN, w początkowym okresie „kłopotów”?
